Toddlers, Tough Mornings, & Herbs

I am not sure about yall kids, but my toddler has some pretty tough mornings.

We are in the "terrific" two, going on threenager, stage and whew, some days we are not okay.


I, as a mom (of two Littles), wife and nurse practitioner, love slow mornings with plenty of breathing room. That is usually challenging to acquire with several jobs!


However, one of the things that I have found to be beneficial for everyone in the morning is start my babies off intentionally with herbs!


Here is my favorite recipe for immune boosting and nerve regulating that works well when my Littles are rolling out on the wrong side of the bed. The best part -- it's only 4 ingredients (including water)!

Mi Toddler's Morning Bev.


Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp of chamomile flowers

  • 1 scoop of acerola powder

  • 1/4 cup of pineapple juice (or however much will top off the cup)

  • 1/2 cup of water


Instructions

  1. Place acerola in child friendly cup (I chose this one)

  2. Pour 1/2 cup of hot water in the cup.

  3. Then add chamomile by tea bag or tea diffuser.

  4. Steep altogether for 10 minutes covered.

  5. Strain the herbs and let cool.

  6. Add the pineapple juice mix well and enjoy!
